There are 2 major configurations – or situations – happening at once.

1 – YOD to Jupiter AND Vesta (focal) from Saturn-sextile-Pluto (base) – includes the Sun @ New Year 2013. The last few blogs have discussed this YOD… and it’s still in effect. Now VESTA (Retrograde) has joined. The women are in the house. And the Senate. However, Jupiter and Vesta are Retrograde and close to Direct stations (Jupiter on Jan 31, Vesta Jan 26). When Jupiter stations Direct on Jan 31, its position as focal point of the YOD will come back strong. And this is when VESTA comes to the FOCAL point.

RETROGRADE JUPITER @ YOD focal point – when we can’t make the stretches to let the leader lead, fate takes over. At least until the end of January.

2 – 4-year Uranus-Pluto square that started in 2011 and continues through 2015. This is THE central aspect of this time period pitting the people against big power.

square Pluto (2011-2015) but how are we going to use our independence, and the power that brings? Are we acting responsibly? Are our businesses sustainable? What about infrastructure.

Power connections are thick. Can they be influenced? Positively? By facts and reason? Without making concessions?

WHeee and WOW. The New Year’s Eve Mars-Uranus connection is WHITE HOT. This is volatility that can spark without trying. It’s not that there is anger as much as there is the impatience with a wide open channel to JUMP. Where? to conclusions, connections, affiliations, excitement. Feeling the thrill of independence with Uranus close an easy-to-spot Mars-Jupiter midpoint (Mars and Jupiter are approaching trine and both sextile Uranus)

Uranus wants to build societies. Mars in Uranus-ruled Aquarius wants to include Mars elements in society. Like guns. Saturn in mutual reception can temper that impulse as it asks deeper questions in Scorpio.

Jupiter – as the channel of the YOD – is the focalizer that puts it all together. Jupiter, a planet that represents esteemed leadership, is also Retrograde, so its direction is not necessarily appreciated, or adhered to.

Jupiter remains at the focal point of the YOD – the same YOD of Winter Solstice and the December 28 Full Moon (Saturn will station Rx and stay in the same area of Capricorn, and sextile Pluto). Jupiter will continue to inconjunct Pluto through the end of March 2013. So the current situation will remain in effect through the beginning of spring 2013. However, Jupiter Direct will change how leadership is regarded.

The Goddess Asteroids interact strongly in the charts for January 2013. So that will be interesting to watch unfold. Do we care?

UPDATE: Of course we didn’t go “off the fiscal cliff” – not with all those aspects. NO ONE can afford it. Artcharts was not so fortunate. It seems we are going over the ol’ cliff, probably never crested it anyway. And on we go… It’s a NEW YEAR. Have a Happy!
