As Venus Retrograde begins, Venus is in Mercury-ruled Gemini, while Mercury is in Venus-ruled Taurus. Venus and Mercury are in mutual reception, a special relationship that helps them work together seamlessly — for more attractive thoughts. For those who have forgotten how to speak with thought and kindness, this can be a crash course in re-membering. This Retrograde is a re-minder, an opening that will take us to the next level– where our minds live through our hearts. Believing the thoughts our egos suggest (demand?) is what sends us in misleading directions — we think we have figured it out, when what we have figured out is how to be clever about being in denial. We have not felt or experienced ‘it’ yet.

This Retrograde of Venus in Gemini can be an opportunity to obtain new information that helps us heal emotional memories. Gemini is a MUTABLE, or adaptive sign. How can we adapt our emotional uncertainty and change it into healthy emotions that fit, and even improve, our present reality.

As Venus begins her Retrograde station, we may be ready to retrace our steps and let our hearts lead the way. Especially while Venus is in Gemini with Mercury in Taurus, the mutual reception makes it a more personal process of finding inner peace and kindness by releasing what holds back your desire to share your thoughts and ideas. Once Mercury enters Gemini (May 24), the conversations can begin!

Note: This coincides with 2 Eclipses — the Solar Eclipse (New Moon) on May 20 @ 0 Gemini 20 and the Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) on June 4 @ 14 Sagitarrius 13 (Sun at 14 Gemini 13) opposing Retrograde Venus and square Mars. Need i add — Pluto on the cusp of the 7th house (DESCENDANT) exactly on the East Coast. Looks like stormy weather. [In the Lunar Eclipse chart, Mars opposes Pluto, Sun opposes Moon -- creating a CARDINAL Grand Square of blocked energy]. Spiritual teachers needed now! The intensity of this Eclipse could be precisely the rude awakening that helps us move out old emotional energy and make space for love, trust, cooperation, empathy.

By the end of this Venus Retrograde station, we may get to see what happens when we live from the love in our hearts– and/or what happens when we let fear lead the way.

Since what you think about is what you see — I have encountered a growing number of articles about how we “waste our minds.” And personally, over the 15 years of writing for artcharts online, there has been increasing anger over needing to learn anything. The idea is this — if i don’t already know it, I don’t need to know it and you are insulting me to tell me anything I do not know. — How are we supposed to grow, learn, take care of ourselves, be productive, and in any way intelligent– if we refuse to learn, if we simply believe sound bytes as truth, if we are willfully ignore-ant? The idea that Venus Rx in Gemini — even in 2012, the year of the prophesies — will change the current course is probably naive, and the charts for the end of the Retrograde station– along with the Eclipses (especially the Lunar conjunct Venus’ Direct station) — look quite violent– an open portal to evil. So business as usual, nothing to wrap your mind around… Or is there….????

While making fun of learning and knowledge can be cute and attractive, seeing the results of willfully ignoring important information can be less cute and more of a direct opening into the darkside, as we believe the spins and rhetoric of intentional evil, insidiously infiltrating our minds.

For those rare souls who are interested in learning, regardless of what it directly “gets” for them, Venus Retrograde in Gemini can be an opportunity to see just how much your ideas and opinions are influenced by your judgments. At this point in our technological development, it’s less likely that we can’t access the information we need, so maybe it’s not how much knowledge and information is available, as much as it is about how much space we can give ourselves to learn. All the time we spend doing other Venus in Gemini things, like gossiping, is taking away from your precious time to enjoy your brain, let it be creativity and watch it grow.
