Happy Halloween

Filed under: astrology, inspiration, mercury direct, mercury retrograde, neptune, neptune direct — inspiredastrology @ 12:00 am

Happy Halloween

Halloween is the time you can see through the veil, or shadow, to gain a greater understanding of the dark. What’s in the dark? Whatever keeps you in a self-sabotaging pattern. All self-sabotage comes from unacknowledged fear and shame. You may ACT and TALK like you’re secure and in control, but if you’re not really sure deep inside, over time this builds toxic emotions like resentment, anger, jealousy. Ya’ know, the dark stuff.

Scorpio is a symbol for release, recycling, and rebirth. How do you keep your angry feelings alive? What stories do you tell yourself to prove that fanning the flames of your anger is justified? Do you disown what you don’t like about yourself and pin it on someone else? Because, duh, you’d never do THAT. Anger is all based in fear. We get angry AFTER we feel fear. But instead of feeling safe saying we feel fear, we get angry. Scorpio is the time we can look at our fears, see them for what they are, and let them go…

Trick o’ Treat
When the veil is the thinnest, we have access to our ancestors– just to visit. The treats you give the trick o’ treaters are symbolic treats that honor your ancestors.

Halloween is the last day of Mercury is Retrograde in Libra, while dreamy Neptune stations Direct on Halloween. And Mercury will station Direct in Libra (23 Libra 22) on All Saints Day, November 1. Mercury and Neptune appear to be in an approaching trine. But since Mercury will station Direct, it will not become exact. This is the time to let your imagination out of the box. To achieve balance and harmony while Mercury is direct in Libra, give your creative vision fair representation. On this Halloween, use your ingenuity to unmask your subconscious. Let your imagination be free! Mercury stations Direct tomorrow, All Saints Day, and then you can write down your visions and put your ideas on paper. Meanwhile, on this Halloween, it’s time to give your imagination a night to remember.

Happy Halloween!
Lauren

Got it! Saturn and Virgo

Filed under: astrology — inspiredastrology @ 8:49 am

Hi,
I honor your decision to purchase or not purchase any of my reports or readings. Many of my viewers tell me they already know themselves, so they don’t need any further guidance.

I disagree. I think we are ALL WAYS developing, it is never complete and it continues…. Even if you are enlightened, you can extend your good feelings to help others.

I think we do live in an increasingly enlightened world. Increasingly, more people are more enlightened. And more people who are interested in higher-Self development are using more tools and accessing more information probably than ever before in history. People who are interested in astrology can buy software, books, and surf endless websites discussing every “aspect” of astrology. And most of it is at no cost to the viewer. So unless a writer is affiliated with a corporation or an organization or is also selling books, there is no room for the writer, except to keep writing. Even the NY Times stopped selling subscriptions, it’s not something people feel they should be have to pay for. And with so much available, they’re right! I love what i do. Yet, until i have something i can share that is salable, i cannot justify continuing to write this site and blog every day. It is a 50/60 hour a week commitment, that i joyfully make. I am sorry i’m not a professional copywriter and i can’t write mesmerizing ad copy that sells. I will try to study that art. Regardless of the future of artcharts, i love writing and will always find a way to share, even if it’s not every day and i no longer make calendars.

You see, i really believe all the positive messages i write. And i fully honor everyone’s decisions to purchase or not purchase anything from this website. It’s all good. Really, it is. EVERYTHING nudges us to where we have to be.

In all seriousness, as Saturn sits on my Moon, I cannot afford to give and not receive. It’s not in balance and it’s on me find a way to give AND receive.

Keep in mind, Saturn is in Virgo, and will station Rx and therefore remain in early Virgo through Spring 2008. And Fall 2008 there’s a Saturn-Uranus opposition, exact on Election Day. This is clean-up time. This is time to pay attention to the dirt so you can get the dirt out. You cannot be “in the light” if you have not resolved your shadow. You can’t just read something and think “that’s it, i’m healed”. You have to LOOK at your shadow, feel it, accept it, even love it. And since this is SATURN in Virgo, this is best done with the guidance of an expert or professional.

Saturn in Virgo reminds us, there is work to do, every day. And routine becomes ritual in Virgo.

And so my fellow Saturn-in-Libra’s, after the clean-up in Virgo, we will be called upon to lead the way to create peace and balance. What do you need to clean up over the next 2 years?

with MUCH Love&Light,
Lauren

Trick or Treat? The Adventures of a Disseminating Moon

Filed under: astrology, disseminating moon, mercury direct, mercury retrograde, moon, neptune, neptune direct — inspiredastrology @ 7:31 pm

As the Moon transits Gemini (Sunday and Monday, October 28 and 29) becoming the Disseminating Moon predawn on Monday (4:13 am edt), she completes a Mutable Grand Square. This Moon transit can personalize the side effects of this week’s Venus-Jupiter square and Jupiter-Neptune sextile. Venus and Jupiter are both square Uranus in Pisces, and the transiting Moon fills in the 4th leg of the square– creating a Mutable Grand Square that echoes the Mutable Grand Square of the recent Solar Eclipse on September 11, 2007 (see blogs below). Tension builds, something needs to improve, yet overindulging can fill you up with all the wrong things. The need to succeed and create abundance can feel stalled; is this a calling or an impossible dream? There is a release valve. It’s your intuition.

Jupiter has been square Uranus all of 2007, so you may feel that your luck is being tested, or that you want to change your luck. You want to grow, if only everyone would support it! There is help, if you’re willing to be open to your dreams and intuition.

On Halloween, Nepune stations Direct. There is access to your subconscious exactly at the time the veil is the thinnest. This is an open invitation to delve into your inner self. Jupiter is sextile Neptune this week (exact Nov 1 at 12:01 am edt) and Mercury stations Direct the night of Nov 1. To get past the feeling that everything you want is an impossible dream and you “should” keep your full attention on reality, that will only bring more of the same things. Why not try shifting your focus to what makes you feel better. Notice where you have succeeded, give more thought to what you want to happen next. If you contradict every positive thought you have, you are focused on what you don’t want, and continue to attract more of the same. Change takes planning and the willingness to do something differently. As Jupiter sextiles Neptune, taking one step in a positive direction can lead to a thought shift you may have never been able to see — until now.

Mercury stations DIRECT on November 1st. This is Halloween followed by All Saints Day, when the veil between the worlds of the senses and the extrasensory is the thinnest. And as dreamy Neptune stations Direct along with Mercury, this the time to take what you learn from your inner guidance and manifest your dreams and desires– start by putting it in writing. What are the steps you need to take? Write it down. Having a dream or hoping for the best is a great start. Now it’s time to draft your proposals, write your resume, detail your plans, follow up on your requests. Don’t just wish it and feel frustrated when it doesn’t happen. What actions are you INSPIRED to take? Making any intentional movement to reach out and connect can be the ripple that starts something big. Let something wonderful grow.

in Love&Light,
Lauren

Mercury Retrograde: communication watch

Filed under: astrology, mercury retrograde — inspiredastrology @ 5:42 pm

Hi,
There haven’t been many orders to the artcharts catalog lately, but several clients have experienced problems recently. They had their SPAM filters set on HIGH, so they were not receiving my emails. If your SPAM filter is set on HIGH, that can delete any email that contains any link. Since it is Mercury Retrograde, you may want to rethink your SPAM settings on your email. Mercury will sextile Pluto, get help from a pro so you don’t let paranoia cause you to delete important information!

And, if you don’t receive an expected email, kind communication is gr8ly appreciated;-)

This site is all about creating a better world. Let’s do it!

Blessings,
Lauren

_______________

The Full Moon in Taurus: embracing your power

This is a special Full Moon. There is an astrological pattern, called the Grand Sextile, which is made of 2 Grand Trines, forming a Star of David. This means that 6 planets are joined by sextiles. It’s important to note that this Grand Sextile includes the Nodes and Vesta, an Asteroid: women are part of the equation.

[Grand Sextile: Moon sextiles NorthNode-Pallas sextiles Vesta sextiles Sun sextiles Saturn-SouthNode sextiles Mars sextiles Moon] [Water Grand Trine: Sun trines Mars trines North Node] [Earth Grand Trine: Moon trines Vesta trines Saturn-South Node]

On this Taurus Full Moon you can find ways to package and present your talent so you can reap the rewards of your sincere, creative efforts. If you benefit people and perform a useful service, you may receive not only good wishes, but the realistic support it takes to keep doing it. Building anything worthwhile takes support. It’s not enough to express your talents. If you want to keep doing it, you need material returns as well.

Every Star of David contains 3 oppositions. The Sun opposes the Moon, the North Node opposes Saturn and the South Node, Vesta opposes Mars. And besides the Star of David, there is a Venus-Uranus opposition. This is a time of increased social change and awareness, and it may come at a time that you are feeling more private and security-conscious than open and resilient, making it more challenging to enjoy the outside world. This balance is between your spiritual or personal development AND your very real physical needs here and now.

The Earth Grand Trine — including the Taurus Full Moon — can make you comfortable and secure in your current status quo. The Water Grand Trine — including the Sun — can increase your sensitivity, making you less interested in venturing beyond your comfort zone.

Grand Trines in astrology point to how we create comfortable patterns that keep us going around in endless circles. What patterns do you build? What masks do you wear to protect yourself from others? What defenses have you built to stay safe and not get hurt, again. Perhaps instead of building walls, you can break down the negative emotions that your wall is made of. Acting out your negative emotions keeps the cycle going, as you feel guilty, make others feel awful, so you feel guilty, and on it goes. The barricades grow and become entrenched. There are other ways!

Happy Halloween
Halloween is the time you can see through the veil, or shadow, to gain a greater understanding of what keeps you in a self-sabotaging pattern. All self-sabotage comes from unacknowledged shame. You may ACT and TALK like you’re secure and in control, but if you’re not really sure deep inside, over time this builds toxic emotions like resentment, anger, jealousy.

Scorpio is a symbol for release, recycling, and rebirth. How do you keep your angry feelings alive? What stories do you tell yourself to prove that your anger is justified? Do you disown what you don’t like about yourself and pin it on someone else?

Every Full Moon brings greater awareness, and during a Taurus-Scorpio Full Moon we can become more aware of how we project whatever we don’t like about ourselves onto others. This may seem like a strategy, yet it leaves ourSelves with big missing pieces. We’re not our authentic selves so we don’t “blow our cover.” But by staying safe, we are not taking our power. Then we feel justified resenting those who DO take their power, especially if you can detect something to criticize so you can keep the cycle going. But one insight can change that!

When the veil is thin, we can also HEAR our inner voice. What is it telling you? Do you contradict your own fulfillment by wanting something one moment and thinking you’re “not good enough” or unworthy the next? As soon as you want something, the next thought is all the REAL reasons it’s impossible. This gives your subconscious mixed messages. It keeps you in a state of contradiction, or stuck.

Instead of holding down our shadow selves (which takes ENERGY), you can let it go, release toxic emotions in SAFE ways that won’t hurt yourself or others. Looking honestly at yourself is NOT required, but NOT looking at your shadow because you’re a “good” person who has no faults, is more than likely to keep you in conflict and stuck where you are. You can’t “just be different” if you keep thinking and doing the same thing. And you can’t think differently if you deny what you’re feeling. Listening to your inner voice is the first step to take back your power.

If you are “grounded” or centered in your body, you can use your creativity to rise above a difficult situation. What keeps you from feeling grounded? Not listening to your body. Not even being aware of what you body needs or wants. To get back in touch, you can: drink water (staying hydrated keeps your body chemistry working), exercise, take a walk outside, be close to nature (wherever that is for you), notice your environment, massage your feet, clear your clutter, get your paperwork organized, eat good food, get into some comfy clothing, and hug someone you love.

Trick o’ Treat
When the veil is the thinnest, we have access to our ancestors– just to visit. The treats you give the trick o’ treaters are symbolic treats that honor your ancestors.

Mercury is currently Retrograde in Libra and will station Direct in Libra (23 Libra 22) on All Saints Day, November 1. Libra is ruled by Venus and Venus is in Mercury-ruled Virgo. This means Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception, or able to “stand in” or replace each other. This gives them a special relationship where they function as a unit. Before you can get closer, you have to get clear so you’re not projecting your shadow onto others, even deceased ancestors, and burdening not only them, but yourself.

Mercury will trine Mars again (on Nov 19), while both Mercury and Mars remain sextile to Saturn (Mercury/Mars=Saturn, which puts Saturn at the midpoint of Mercury/Mars). This extra long Mercury-Mars trine (which usually last a day) is in effect through November 19. And it’s not over then.

Mars and Saturn are both stationing and hardly moving (Mars stations Rx on November 15, Saturn stations Retrograde on December 19), which continues their sextile relationship (October 8, December 9, March 14). This can be an extended opportunity to use your mental energy to get clear about what you want, focus on it, and make it happen. Saturn restricts, and many astrologers see this prolonged sextile that includes the South Node as a sign of difficult times ahead. Combine this with Mars being out-of-bounds by declination all winter (through late April 2008) and any tense situation can HEAT up to OVERBOIL, whether it’s physical (which is possible in Virgo), geographic (also possible since Virgo is an Earth element sign), social, or political. Out-of-bounds planets can swing to extremes, so it can be TOO HOT one minute and you can feel an energy drain the next, especially while Mars is Retrograde (November 15 – January 30, 2008).

Positively, the prolonged Mars-Saturn sextile can show you what you DON’T want, which can make it easier to realize and focus on what you do WANT. If information clutter doesn’t give you time to focus on anything, your anxiety can overwhelm your energy and you can feel more frustrated and restricted than informed. Focus is essential to keep your mind on your goals.

And because nothing is ever perfect or complete, there’s more (almost) daily on the ArtCharts AstroBlog

Hot spots: Mars on fire in the USWest

Filed under: astrology, declinations, mars — inspiredastrology @ 11:07 am

At the beginning of Fall 2007 I wrote a blog “Fall Equinox: getting your balance”. I pointed out the strong position of Mars, and that the red planet would be “out-of-bounds” by declination from early October through the end of April 2008.

Mars has had a strong influence on many of the recent astrology charts. And Mars also figures PROMINENTLY in the October 25/26 Full Moon chart for Southern California and Nevada as Mars, symbolizing heat, crosses the Ascendant exactly in Las Vegas, NV.

Since Mars symbolizes HEAT and is out of bounds, it can get excessively HOT. Out of bounds acts like a wild card, and can literally know no limits. The prominence in these charts shows Mars at it’s hottest in the area just north of LA through Las Vegas and down through the west coast of Mexico. This can keep temperatures high and the fires burning.

At Thursday night’s Full Moon, Venus and Uranus are also strong in the chart, Venus at the IC (conjunct the 4th house cusp) and Uranus at the MC (conjunct the 10th house cusp), showing that you can become detached from the home you love. And that home is where the heart is, but “home” can change instantly. Homes can be lost and shared as evacuees join together in group living situations. And it will all be documented by the media (Uranus on the MC).

Sun enters Scorpio, Mercury leaves Scorpio: are you coming or going?

Filed under: astrology, scorpio, sun — inspiredastrology @ 11:53 pm

As the Sun enters Scorpio (Tuesday, October 23), both the Sun and Mercury are at 0 degrees Scorpio. The Sun is entering Scorpio, while Retrograde Mercury is traveling backwards OUT of Scorpio and into Libra. (The Sun is always direct). So, as the Sun goes forward into Scorpio and Mercury goes backwards into Libra– are you coming or going? Are you ready to delve deeper into secrets and mysteries or do you NEED approval to feel balanced?

Are you authentically being YOU, or do you act and speak to get the approval of others? Listening to feedback is not the same as needing approval. Feedback is a decision to WANT to know what other people think of you. We all like to think of ourselves as good-natured, happy, fabulous, but do others agree? Have all your interactions, today, been positive, uplifting? Or did you give someone a “piece of your mind” and blame them for their inferior inadequate, incompetent whatever. While Mercury is Retrograde in Libra, we are reminded that our communication works best when it is considerate. We need to remember that we are all human, that we have things in common. And that before you can feel genuinely intimate with anyone, it helps to be friends. Retrograde Mercury in Libra wants to find out what you have in common, what makes you equals.

At the time the Sun enters Scorpio, the rulers of Scorpio– Mars and Pluto– are both making easy-flowing (sextile and trine) aspects to the Sun and Mercury, and Pluto will be making a challenging square aspect to the Moon today, Mars tomorrow. Emotions may be intense— yet, you can be the one in control. You can FEEL your emotions, and choose your actions. This takes courage, and you may be feeling more of that now!

To live in your power, you need to feel emotionally connected. Yet, emotions can be intense and judgments can be harsh, which can make you feel closed and paranoid. What pushes your buttons and “makes” you feel jealous, resentful, or angry? Negative feelings and (secret) insecurity can come up when you project your feelings on other people. The negative emotions you feel are all parts of yourself that you have rejected. They have become your “shadow” self. Instead of acknowledging these qualities you don’t approve of, you see them in others, where you CAN reject them. This gives you someone to blame, someone who is at fault, a situation which is beyond your control. But this makes you the victim of a terrible person or situation. And this will continue, the terrible people and the bad situations, until you decide to reclaim your (displaced) shadow. Projection can help you SEE what you don’t want to admit is part of you, but unless you can reclaim the projection (as part of you), the bad situation continues….

It’s really a great process because that’s where find your own talent and gifts. That talent you see in someone else that makes you jealous is also in YOU. Perhaps you have not developed it, perhaps you have not educated and informed your talent. Yet, you feel negative emotions towards people who are successful doing what you’d like to do. When you feel these kinds of inner stirrings, it’s a clear sign that you have found a subject to learn, practice, and pursue. If you see something that moves you emotionally, there’s something in it for you. Take notes and find ways to make it your own, even if that requires time, patience, and dedication. You can decide to allow your development, or you can let self-sabotaging thoughts continue to keep you held back by your (hidden) fears.

Lauren

The Gibbous Moon in Pisces: who loves ya?

Filed under: Gibbous Moon, astrology, moon, saturn, venus — inspiredastrology @ 10:05 am

Monday morning, October 22, Gibbous Moon.

As the Pisces Moon contacts the current Venus-Saturn conjunction (by opposition), it’s possible to feel rejected and alienated. You can feel the critical judgment of others– and since Venus is involved, you may feel distant from someone near and dear. Maybe even yourself, as you imagine the thoughts of others and overreact accordingly. Pisces Moon is a time many of us “shoot ourselves in the foot” as we imagine insults and retaliate, just from the evidence in our imagination.

What to do?

If you can spend some quiet alone time, you can meditate yourself back into a happier state of well-being. Just closing your eyes and taking 1 deep breath can put your brainwaves in the alpha state. Then, as the Moon trines Mars and then conjuncts Uranus today, being active can get you out of the darkness and into a brighter state of mind. It’s time to take independent action, stand on your own 2 feet.

If you DO something just because you’re feeling restless, you could make an impulsive move that goes against the grain and takes you out of your flow. And disrupt others as well. Keep in mind, since the South Node is conjunct Saturn (with the Moon conjunct North Node, both opposing Venus and Saturn), what are YOU doing, feeling, thinking to create the feeling of rejection? Do you tell yourself stories about your past that haunt your present? Are you letting the negativity of others dwell in you? How are you trying to protect yourself from your intuitive KNOWING?

Yet— you can get an energy boost by doing something courageous, something out of the ordinary.

Personally, I’m taking my dogs and going on a hike. Could be the last warm day with beautiful fall color in the Northeast. This laptop is going plein air!

Have a great day!

Lauren

First Quarter Moon: determined for success

Filed under: Libra, astrology, capricorn, empowerment, first quarter moon, saturn — inspiredastrology @ 9:31 pm

Friday, October 19 (4:33 am edt) the Moon and Sun are exactly square, forming the First Quarter Moon.

The Moon is in Capricorn. The Sun is in Libra. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn; Libra is ruled by Venus. Again, we see Venus and Saturn making a connection.

So where are you? What have you learned that you can APPLY it effectively in the world to achieve goals? With Mercury Retrograde (at 5 Scorpio 36) at this First Quarter Moon, take the time to keep looking until you feel you’ve reached an honest assessment.

Saturn, ruler of the Capricorn Moon, has been conjunct Venus (ruler of the Libra Sun) in early Virgo and both Saturn and Venus are at the Mercury/Mars midpoint — and making helpful sextiles to both Mercury and Mars. Do not underestimate the value of a good plan to achieve your desires. You may be feeling lots of determined, positive energy, but to be effective, you need to know what to DO with it. Saturn’s energy is constricting, yet it guides by setting limits and creating boundaries so you can focus on what you WANT to do.

Before you can make decisions, you have to be clear. What DON’T you want? What DO you want?

Taking responsibility for your choices is daunting, but if you’re NOT willing to take responsibility for the choices you make, or aware that you have a choice, you can find yourself manipulating others to take responsibility for your decisions. It’s always someone else’s fault. Realizing the serious weight of responsibility can be overwhelming. Yet, if you don’t take it on, you can feel victimized because others are making the important decisions for you.

Making a commitment DOES restrict how much time and energy you can put into other things, yet by putting your attention on what you choose and select, Saturn’s restrictions can be opportunities to concentrate, make progress, get closer to a goal, all themes of Saturn energy.

While Mercury is Retrograde and exactly sextile Saturn at the First Quarter Moon, you may reflect on your goals and get clear about the steps you need to take to achieve them. Information may be hidden and hard to access, especially until the Sun-Mercury conjunction at 0 Scorpio (on Oct 23), but don’t let that stop you! After the Sun-Mercury conjunction (the “inferior” conjunction) you may be able to access deeper information than you have recently, IF you are ready to look behind the scenes, under the covers, and beyond what your ego wants you to acknowledge.

Message of the First Quarter Moon: this is THE perfect time to get organized. Sort it out, write it down, think it through, again. And if you’re still not sure, there’s something you’re missing, so do it again.

Once you know what to do, there can be opportunities to move ahead, but the strong Venus influence of this chart reminds us that it helps to be KIND. Being considerate can persuade even the most sensitive or difficult person.

But what’s the problem with pressing your point when you KNOW you are right? Aren’t you justified??! Yes, if you want to spend your energy holding on to being right.

Why do we need to be RIGHT? To prove our self-worth. When you need to be right to prove your self-worth, or for you ego’s sake, the message your are broadcasting — to yourself and others — is that you’re only worth something IF you are right. Feeling and believing that “you’re only worth something IF you are right” is a belief that leads to unhappiness and negative feelings about yourself that can radiate out and touch everyone and everything you contact. What if feeling worthless causes bad feelings– not because it’s true, but because it is NOT true. And spreading bad feelings makes it worse, and worse…. So why not spread good feelings, because you really ARE worthy. That would be a strong positive statement that would empower you, which also radiates and vibrates.

in Love&Light,
Lauren

Making this workweek work

Filed under: astrology, mercury retrograde, moon, saturn, venus, virgo — inspiredastrology @ 10:04 pm

Continuing on with the Venus-Saturn conjunction theme, because the sky is not letting it drop…

Venus is quickly approaching the current Mercury-Mars trine by making a sextile to Mars and Retrograde Mercury (on Tuesday 10/16), while Retrograde Mercury and Mars form a perfect trine before dawn on Wednesday (10/17). With the Nodes, this forms a KITE formation, which is a Grand trine and a sextile to one of the points [Mars in Cancer trines North Node in Pisces trines Mercury in Scorpio and both Mars and Mercury sextile the Venus-SNode-Saturn conjunction in Virgo]. The KITE pattern is a symbol for supreme success. This is about figuring out the details for your greatest success.

You may see what you want, and you may want to go for it. Yet, making a decision can bring up endless details to figure out. If you allow that to change your mind or “awfulize” a situation until there is no way out, you can talk yourself into a negative spiral. This is about focusing on the positive by watching where you place your attention.

What about success and abundance challenges your beliefs about your routine and work?

How can you look at the feedback you’re receiving to turn things around in your favor?

If something is in your way, talk it out, write it out, journal it out– argue it out if you have to. And with the air cleared, you may be able to figure it out.

in Love&Light,
Lauren
