Mercury enters Aries on Wednesday, April 2 and squares Pluto on Thursday, April 3.
Venus enters Aries overnight Sunday, April 6 and squares Pluto Sunday night.
As the planets move from the emotional roller coaster of Pisces currently tenanted by Uranus, they enter the bright light of Aries, and immediately square Pluto now in early Capricorn. Now we see that murky Pisces may have a purpose after all, as a transition between spirit and the fast-paced real world, a place where we can become aware of unconscious impulses so we don’t feel the need to ACT overly impulsively at the wrong times. We examine our egos– not to make ourselves feel bad– but to clear the way. Spring detox. We don’t want to get tripped up or self-sabotage our efforts with bad timing of either quitting too early or being too fast– just when we have finally created the opportunity we wanted.
As Mercury and Venus enter Aries and square Pluto, the cover can be blown off your deep-seated emotions that you would rather not feel, like jealousy, suspicion, and resentment. You can become obsessed with something someone says, about you or someone near&dear. It can be more challenging to release angry or hostile feelings, and revenge can sound sweet. Even if it undermining your own best interests or higher source.
Like the FOOL in the tarot, we can go skipping off into what seems like a wonderful world. And as we encounter the square from stationing Pluto, we may feel stirrings of feelings that need healing.
The current squares of the Sun, Mercury, and Venus to Pluto helps us to see how much resistance we have when it comes to STARTING new projects right now. The desire is there, and you may have a few excellent ideas. Yet, it can seem like something always comes up that makes it more difficult. As long as we find something or someone to blame this on, we can remain stuck, at least until the aspects change. Yet, aspects build on each other, and the more awareness we are able to receive from the transiting aspects, the more ready we will be when the window of opportunity opens We have done our “homework”, we are on schedule, we can remain present and do our best. Yet, even after having cleared inner resistance, we can still meet with more resistance, as deeply buried issues come up in ways that are subtle yet challenge our natural forward movement.
Pluto is stationing Retrograde as it squares Mercury and Venus, and will retrograde out of Capricorn and back into Sagittarius on June 13 and remain in Sagittarius through the rest of 2008. So this square is a test of how we are going to respond to the serious nature of Pluto in Capricorn once returns in 2009. Are we moving towards a sustainable reality, or farther away?
Here is Mercury squares Pluto from Io Transit Report:
“Under this influence you may take some things too seriously. Don’t try to read between the lines when there is really nothing to find. Don’t waste time looking for hidden motives in what others are doing when their actions may be perfectly innocent. You may tend to become too intense or place too much importance on what in reality may be a relatively innocuous idea or piece of information. The reverse may also be true when others take your ideas or actions far more seriously than you had intended. Valuable time can be lost or you can jeopardize a position of personal power or control you enjoy if you manipulate a situation or the information and ideas you get from others to your own advantage. This is also true if you allow others to behave in such a manner. In spite of frustrating obstacles that can turn up during this period, much progress can be gained if you maintain a patient, reasonable attitude.”
Here is Venus squares Pluto from Io Transit Report:
“Interactions at this time are apt to trigger more serious responses than the circumstances might indicate. Something that is said or done in an innocent social or light-hearted context may stir up old memories, deep passions, and even deep anger and resentment. Whether you are the one that is aroused or you inspire such reactions in others is not always easy to predict. Being aware of the potential of such an occurrence and staying in control of your reactions at least, are the keys to dealing with whatever comes along. You should not, for instance, deliberately antagonize others or seek to arouse their jealousy, since such a plan would automatically backfire or result in something even worse. If faced with your own internal conflicts set off by innocent (and even not so innocent) gestures on the part of others, much will be gained if you can manage to rise to the challenge by turning such negative energy to some constructive purpose.”

Sunday, March 30, not only does the Sun in Mars-ruled Aries square Mars, Pallas the Asteroid Vesta is exactly conjunct the Sun and therefore also exactly square Mars.
While you may be feeling personally energized, passionate about your creativity, and eager to start new things, just getting things in motion can be a bigger challenge than anticipated. You may not be able to blast through defenses the way you imagined, and realizing that can be more empowering than denying the reality of defensive attitudes. Yet, standing strong, staying present, even things are not going your way, can either give you more integrity or be a catalyst for change.
This is the Advanced Forecast for Mars square Sun and Mars square Pallas:
Mar 30, 2008 Mars square Sun
You are inclined to be aggressive and hot-tempered now, particularly when your will is blocked. Your pushiness or competitive attitude is likely to create antagonism, hostility, and further resistance to your efforts. It is best to work alone rather than try to cooperate or coordinate your efforts with anyone at this time. Also, you are impatient and tend to behave in an impulsive, irritable way which makes you more prone to accidents during this period.
Mar 30, 2008 Pallas square Mars
Career or creative projects have difficulty getting underway. Your plans and cherished ideas do not gain the momentum you believed possible, and you have to extend great effort to achieve your ambitions. During this unsettled period, you feel you have reached a standstill in your career or inner drive and may even consider a change of direction in your ambitions. As this is only for the time being, it might be best to endure the challenges and frustration now, instead of making decisions in haste and regretting them later on.
There may be tension, anxiety or strife regarding a male member of your family or an associate.

Outer planet aspects usually bring some kind of large-scale change, and this can be especially exciting when they involve expansive Jupiter and changeable Uranus. And since Venus, Vesta and Uranus are conjunct, this also means Venus (and Vesta and Uranus) sextile Jupiter. This can be an ideal time to step out and try something new. To achieve your goals and remain centered despite whatever happens around you, approach life from a new perspective. This is the time to think positively and get things done without thinking about why not. You can worry again starting Sunday when Sun and Mars are exactly square and will be through the approaching New Moon in Aries on April 5. That’s a lot of impatient energy and that’s significant “because Mars rules Aries, which is where the Sun is now. Why so impatient? Because everyone is telling you to hurry up and get it done yesterday. Of course that is going to make you feel more anxious!
While the Sun and Mars are square, the Sun is also semisquare Neptune. So the anger or irritation you feel can be an illusion. The old adage that it’s never about what gets you angry is especially true this weekend. If you are disappointed or dissatisfied, check out the reality of your expectations before you blow off steam on someone undeserving. Things may not be what they seem! The resistance you encounter is not coming from “them”, it’s coming from you (Sun aspects Mars and Neptune). We continue to blame others until we give ourselves permission to go beyond our resistance and make actual changes.
Read more about Jupiter sextile Uranus in the blog piece on Saturday’s Last Quarter Moon (also on this blog).
This is Jupiter sextiles Uranus from the StarLight Solutions Forecast:
Mar 28, 2008 (Mar 17, 2008 to Apr 2, 2008) Jupiter Sextile Uranus
“You are open and eager to have new experiences, ideas, and people in your life, and thus draw them to you. A series of unusual events or coincidences may bring unexpected good fortune. Unbidden changes work out in your favor and allow you more freedom and room to move – like being “bumped up” from coach to first class.
This is an exciting and stimulating time, an excellent period to begin a new venture or attempt something unprecedented.
Working with groups or collectives can be a very positive experience now, especially if you feel that your freedom, individuality, and room to move is encouraged. Other people stimulate you to new ways of thinking and being, and you do the same for them.
Positive Potentials:
Increased optimism, confidence, and willingness to try a radically different approach. Cross-cultural experiences that expand your understanding. Unexpected positive developments socially and professionally.
Negative Potentials:
Very few, or none.
Remedies and Suggestions:
Begin asking for what you want, put out clear intentions and goals, and you’ll attract positive responses. Carpe diem!”
And this is Jupiter sextiles Uranus from the Advanced Astrology Forecast:
Mar 28, 2008 (Mar 17, 2008 to Apr 2, 2008) Jup Sxtil Ura
“Your life is very upbeat and progressive now. You enjoy jovial, spirited get-togethers and parties, and you feel optimistic and enthusiastic. Associates, co-workers, and other businesses that you conduct business with are now ready and willing to talk to you about making progressive changes. Contracts or agreements signed at this time tend to be fortunate, although they do lead to progressive changes that make people who want to hold onto the status quo unhappy.
You become very interested in progressive options in all phases of life, and you take an active interest in new ideas and inventions. You may also participate in social change which, perhaps surprisingly to you, is met with little resistance and considerable interest from the public.”

This week (March 24-30) has potential! It also has a caution and many active Asteroid Goddess aspects.
Monday, March 24, starts with another Mercury-Venus conjunction. They’ve been traveling together for over a month, trying to get us to see the importance of bringing a cooperative spirit to any discussion. This can be a helpful aspect for negotiating anything, from a contract to personal issues like what to buy and where to eat dinner.
That’s not all, so on we go.
Both Mercury and Venus will conjunct Uranus. So Mercury, Venus, and Uranus sextile Jupiter.
The Asteroids join as Vesta simultaneously conjuncts Mercury-Venus-Uranus and of course sextiles Jupiter.
That’s not all.
On Saturday’s Last Quarter Moon, the Sun is exactly square the Moon and Mars while Pallas conjuncts the Sun and Sun-Pallas squares Mars (and the Moon). This puts the Sun-Pallas conjunction at the center of a Cardinal T-Square.
This is a call to bravery. Sometimes, you have to stand up and make a stand. And these aspects encourage it. Literally give it courage.
If you want to make a change, you have to BE the change. Sitting on the sidelines and continuing to complain will keep you right where you are. And the changes you KNOW are important may not happen.
Each person has a role, and the group dynamic that creates can either help to create or repress change. Each person is responsible for how they participate, how they interact, and the effectiveness of the group depends on how each individual interacts with the group.
This week, the encouragement you give and receive can help to make everything you do even better. The world feels more friendly and willing to listen. New doors can open. You may find more support for what previously seemed like impossible dreams. Your definition of success may go through a revision as you let intuition work through you to reach new levels of thought and creativity.
But if you take all the credit or slip back into competition to feel good about yourself, you can lose the good feelings in a heartbeat. Fearing failure or ridicule can make you lose your creative flow when the Sun and Pallas square Mars during Saturday’s Last Quarter Moon.
