A viewer, client, and all-around amazing person posted this as a comment and asked me to please put it in the main section, not just in the comments. So here is a sincere testimonial, unedited, and here because she wanted it to be HERE!

“Lauren, Lauren, Lauren, what a powerful writer you are! I want you to continue and I value and am so inspired and strengthened by all you do. So I am doing to donate to you, it is but a few dollars, but if everyone does the same it will add up for you! You deserve it, and so do we all! So come on everyone, I have $6.00 in my account and I am going to give half of it to Lauren, because its a tough economy, and its time we show Lauren how much what her expressions mean to us! Come on everyone, a few dollars, you can do that! IF I CAN, SO CAN YOU!! It might feel as though the end of the world is coming, but the true lesson is that we finally learn to really help each other. That is what is called for right now, so I am going to help Lauren sustain this, because she sustains me, and because she is a beacon of light, a powerhouse, and a powerful beautiful spirit, as evidenced by all she does on this beautiful site! Support her! Honor her! I wish my $3.00 was $300.00, and with your help, a little bit from each of you, it can be that, and more for Lauren! Love you Lauren, and we really do appreciate you! Now, EVERYONE SHOW LAUREN WHAT YOU MEAN TO HER!”

Rethinking Retrogrades: Venus Retrograde 2009

Filed under: astrology, retrograde planets, venus retrograde — Tags: — inspiredastrology @ 12:01 pm

As Venus stations Retrograde,

I’m thinking about retrogrades.

again.

because that’s what retrogrades are for.

recycle and reuse

so here are

some thoughts.

retrogrades are:

limits.

because they represent a turning point.

time is literally up. a project may have to start or end.

Retrograde planets are signs that unfinished business needs to be finished.

Something has to happen before the next thing can begin. When the informationĀ  becomes available, continuing to research becomes procrastinating. When information is not available, we may need to wait or find new sources.

Retrogrades are planetary interventions. They let you know you can no longer carry on as you have been going. Where they are in your chart shows you where things have gone to far or not far enough. Where action has to be taken.

Venus is Retrograde in Aries from March 6 – April 17, 2009.

This Venus Rx falls in Aries and goes backĀ  into the last degree of Pisces. Each of us has to take responsibility for our ability to attract love and money. When we are willing to stand on our own, we start to find our self-worth. And when we find our Inner personal self-worth, we can see worth in others.

Going back to 0 degrees Aries is the going back to the beginning. We have to go all the way back, and even one step beyond that– to get it right. We have a rare opportunity to truly start over with what we value.

Venus retrograding ack to 0 degrees Aries, the very beginning of the zodiac, foreshadows a time of getting back to basics.

And then Venus takes it one step further.

She backs up into Pisces, treading the line between all-that-is and our individual self. Will she sink or swim?! Instead of thinking about how MUCH we can get for our own individual self, that may be the wrong question. It may be, how can each of us do our part so the WHOLE gets off to a positive new start. It’s not about overlooking or discounting, judging or criticizing, it’s about realizing that we each have our part to play, our purpose, and if we are true to that and encourage others to do the same, we can stay on course and live a productive, happy life that spreads love and positive energy.

What is basic for you? What can you give up that is bloated? How can you cut back? There may be ways you are spending money that is not necessary. How can you lower your bills, use less energy, consume less? Getting back to basics will get you back in touch with what is really important to you. You may even find time for free things like having fun. Just going for a walk doesn’t have to cost money, and you can enjoy your adventure, take in the sights, maybe even make a new friend or run into an old one. This isn’t about being bored, it’s about re-discovering enjoyment that is available regardless of how much money you have. And that starts with you deciding to enjoy YOU!

Before we push our personal agenda too hard and without thought for others, we are asked to review our values. Many of us are already doing that, sensing that cash can be tight, whether or not you’re working, it’s the entire society that is going through major birth pangs of change. And regardless of our personal economic situation, we all need to be mindful of how we earn and spend as our bills go up and up and up. Bloat can get more personal now.

Adding more contemporary context:

Saturn is opposing Uranus. Regardless of how much resistance is used, there is a current mass uprising in human beings. Uranus opposes Saturn. Uranus rules Aquarius. There has been a stellium of planets in Aquarius that were in Aquarius (except for Mercury, which was close) during the last Solar and Lunar Eclipses. This congregation of power in Aquarius shows how much power everyone has when they work together. It’s big enough to change the leadership of the US. And to elect the first multicultural man in our history. And he’s intelligent! This opens up society, as shown by all the planets in Aquarius, and the ruler Uranus opposing Saturn. The old ways are going to change. Yet, the old ways supply us with a foundation, reminding us of the importance of taking care of details and making sure the culture works, that good and services are transported and used by everyone, not only the wealthy and most aggressive.

As the fear of scarcity increases, the quest to “get more for your money” intensifies, forcing demands and expectations to exceed reality. Greed causes stress. Unjustified irrational expectations increase our stress levels. A naive sense of economy may be up for review as Venus stations Retrograde. The faster you go, the less time you’ll have to realize WHAT you have, let alone appreciate anything. To raise your vibration and attract all the people and love you want, the goal is to feel more appreciation. So the less appreciation you feel, and the more you’ll want and the faster you’ll want it. Venus Rx is financial and relationship rehab. This is an intervention. This is boot camp.

Reading this back several weeks later, what is happening is capitalism is changing. Pluto has entered Capricorn, which means big business (Pluto) has entered government (Capricorn). They have joined. Yet, government is having a problem, since business is private and government that supports capitalism doesn’t want to get too involved in regulating private business. Even when the government had to give big business more than all their money because government involvement in business is socialism, or too close to it. So mixing the socialism and capitalism, represented by the opposition of Saturn and Uranus, is not easy to resolve and will continue to be a hot issue for several years (due to the ongoing opposition).

Pluto will be in Capricorn until 2023 and then it will be in Aquarius, the sign of socialism, until 2043. And the next 240-year series of Grand Jupiter-Saturn Conjunctions will be in AIR signs.

I’ve heard wealthy people interviewed who say they didn’t work THIS hard so some slacker can get something for nothing. So what happens the next time you need a hospital, a road, or need military presence, or want to take care of veterans? Or your roads fall apart? Do you try to get “something for nothing” by not paying your share, and then feel anger when you see this in others? If you’re appreciative of what you receive, it may not bother you and you may be more tolerant and interested in understanding the needs and perspectives of others.

Back to basics!

What are YOU doing to get back to basics?

We may all have to sacrifice something. We may all be a bit bloated. We were. We had a summer cottage we were renting upstate NY, just to get out of the intense urban environment we live in. The rent is very reasonable– here and there. But the bills! We gave it up for the winter to keep our energy footprint lean. We unplugged and unhooked from everything but basic cable TV, which we just turned OFF. Only our internet connection remains because we need for artcharts.com among other things. Although viewers are suggesting I use the library. You cannot upload web pages from a library. And if the situation is THAT dire, the last thing I’ll be doing is spending all my days writing for people who “think it should be free.” That’s dysfunctional. I changed my cell phone to a cheaper plan. This means I don’t need a landline phone either.

And even more than the $ we save, it’s the awareness of how much energy we use without even thinking. All the chargers we keep plugged in, even though the battery is charged, the lights we leave on. There are many ways we can all assess our energy footprint, whether or not we HAVE to save money, HOW we spend our money is our choice!

I love natural light. So I don’t turn on any lights (unless I need to) until it’s dark outside. I don’t turn on the TV until night. And this saved us over $40 on our last Con Ed (electric) bill. This means it is very hard to read, so I don’t do any more research for artcharts. Can’t justify the expense of a light.

This Venus Retrograde is going back into the last degree of Pisces BEFORE turning direct. So the Direct station is at 29 Pisces. This gives us a chance to look into our souls BEFORE proceeding full force with what we KNOW, in our heart and soul, we have to do. This is about seeing situations from a more universal perspective so we can awaken something we may have glanced over as “nothing”. And that’s our connection to Source. It comes from our inner joy and it really does take us closer to our authentic truth.

wishing you many blessings and trines!

Is the end of the world coming?

Filed under: astrology — inspiredastrology @ 4:57 pm

Everyone asks me the same question.

“What about the coming Grand Square in 2010-2012. Do you agree with the astrologers who say it’s the end of civilization, as predicted by the Mayans and Hopi’s?”

First, let me say this…

I used to think W was responsible for the general negative attitudes people were throwing around. All the contention along with whining and squinting. I thought a President who displayed that kind of behavior (not owning and blaming others) set a very bad precedent.

But now I think that was wrong thinking. People LIKE contention. W just represented that. He was openly hostile, the other candidates were mild and willing to patiently discuss issues. Too boring! Even the astrologers cannot discuss the US Chart because everyone has a different “rectified” chart they use, calculated by some brilliant astrologer, possibly themselves, and that’s the ONLY chart that works, not only for them, for everyone, and if you don’t use it, there’s no point in discussing anything. So you can’t even discuss major upcoming events without first discussing whose chart is better. Meanwhile, what were we discussing? Demons traveling in the astral enjoy disrupting possibly important idea sharing. We obfuscate important issues with “moral” attitudes. Like Spitzer, being the ONLY person who understood/understands AIG, but he’s trash because he went with a hooker (who he paid at least!) But, for that reason we sold the entire economy down the drain. Was it worth it? Are we morally superior now?

So what do YOU think will happen when the MOST contentious planets make an aspect that is VERY DIFFICULT to get out of? And VERY easy to get into and stay in. Do you think people will share and care for each other? Or will they obey what they think is correct behavior and make sure they get as much as they can– for themselves. Is this truth or ego leading the way?

This spring has been a foreshadowing of the future. And what do we have? A failing economy and talk of a new war.

We don’t support ourselves, let alone others. Our egos trick us. We let them. Many of us expect and don’t mind it when others go down the tubes. Suddenly you have proof that they SUCK. We’re sure they deserved it. Maybe they did, and maybe it’s not that simple. I’m not sure if people are going to change. I HOPE we can continue to evolve, to become ever more conscious, but good wishes are a nice start, representing FIRE and WATER (beliefs and imagination) in the chart. And then you need to DO something real, or it will remain a wish. Or a bubble that bursts and…. !

It has been suggested by spirit that I share this information. What you do with it is entirely your choice and decision.

Have a great day!

Thanks, but…we all need more than good wishes!

Thanks for everyone who came and read the latest blog posts. It was a record turn out from the Newsletter (we will unsubscribe everyone this weekend).

Last night I paid $10.00 to wordpress so i can keep this blog online.

Today, we are hoping that our viewers MAKE A DONATION TO COVER THE VERY MINIMAL COST OF THIS BLOG. (there’s a paypal DONATE link if you click on this link)

If not, that’s cool. No worries! But don’t expect this blog to be there for you when you need it —- that may not be possible. We really need our viewers financial input. It’s an energy law, what goes around come around, but if it only goes one way, the energy gets stuck. For me, that’s just boring.

Artcharts will be closed for renovation so we can downgrade and stay online. WE cannot afford to stay online with the current level of sales from our growing numbers of viewers. We understand these are tough times. We are NOT independently wealthy. WE WORK.

We fully appreciate that this “should” be free. But that is not a realistic expectation. And basing your judgments on it will take you way off course. And if you spread those false judgments, that creates negative karma for you. Or, guilt you have to process. But instead of processing it, if you are NOT CONSCIOUS, you will just blame whoever is convenient. And keep blaming them because that does not work!!!

Btw, artcharts is just me. Lauren Edmond. And i actually have something else I’m doing, so your offer of reading what I write for free is something I”m going to have to pass on. But thanks anyway!

We would charge for blog access, but that is not the nature of the internet. Twitter is. This blog was a bit more in depth, just a bit! But people who are interested in it do not support it, or not in numbers that add up to anything nearly livable. And we’re not talking high expenses! But like i said, I’m busy anyway…. so perhaps it’s fine if this is the last blog post. Journaling is also good, though there are some of us with charts that demand us to share more widely. I am one of those people.

Thanks!

the crossroad: the conjunction of sun-venus-mercury

Filed under: astrology, mercury, venus, venus retrograde — Tags: , — inspiredastrology @ 10:52 am

On March 26 there was a New Moon in Aries. The evening of March 27, the Sun and Venus conjunct in Aries, marking the midpoint of the current Venus Retrograde station. This is the time of legend, when the goddess Venus disappears into the overpowering rays of the Sun, and then remains hidden from view on Earth until she becomes the morning star again soon after the direct station, around when the Sun enters Taurus. And at that time, Venus will be conjunct Mars as they move together into Aries.

This is the “inferior” conjunction of Venus and the Sun because it occurs at the midpoint of Venus Retrograde. Venus and the Sun make a “superior” conjunction that marks the midpoint of Venus’ direct movement. (The next “superior” Venus-Sun conjunction is January 11, 2010)

This Sun-Venus conjunction also includes Mercury. Mercury is at the exact midpoint of its Direct station, making this a “superior” conjunction of the Sun and Mercury.

What does this mean?

This is a literal crossroad.

Astronomically, Venus is conjunct the Earth and opposing the Sun while Mercury is conjunct the Sun and opposing the Earth.

This a time when important life-altering feedback and other information can become available. You may have a strong desire to seek out this information by contacting old friends and lovers. You may seek out the feedback and opinions of others, just to see what they think, to gather data.

BUT— when it comes to taking action, that is something you’ll want to do regardless of what anyone thinks.

If you rush into a decision about love OR money, it may be more about your ego needing to appear loved than living in the love you really want.

There may be crucial information that can’t be known or understood just yet, but which will make more sense soon. You may KNOW something has to change, but what and how? You may do whatever you can to get this question answered.

As Venus continues to Retrograde, back into Pisces (April 11 – 24), you can get some answers to money and relationship questions that have been on your mind for a long time. If you COULD have what you want, is this STILL what you want? How have you changed since you first wanted something you feel has been denied, rejected, or taken from you?

Also, this triple conjunction suggests that if you reject the input of pundits and advisers, that means you can do it on your own. Figure it out. Reconnect with your own inner guidance. Oh yes you can!

And if you really can’t, and you don’t want to check your belief systems for inconsistencies that could be contributing to stuck habit patterns, you may just have to either accept failure or constant stress as “just another day.” If you can surrender to your own inner self first, then you can surrender to the inner self or LOVE of another person. And if you try to find it in another before you acknowledge it in yourself, you can become filled with anger and resentment because you are not doing it for yourself first. Your own originality is coming from someone else. You are giving your decision-making ability, the true meaning of Venus, over to another. And if you’re healthy and want to be functional, that doesn’t feel good.

And it’s all ok because the struggles lead to wisdom.

Astrology is in the unique position to provide you with wisdom that comes from within you, or your own higher Self.

Blessed be!

When will this end??? Is recovery in sight?

Everyone is asking, when will this ECONOMIC DOWNTURN turn UP????

Looking at current charts, we’ve just hit a low point (this past weekend as Heliocentric Earth made a conjunction with Heliocentric Saturn). But Helio Venus is approaching Helio Saturn (exact March 16), which makes immediate economic (or romantic) recovery next to impossible. The entire Earth is going through a time of restriction.

Why Heliocentric charts and what are they? Heliocentric is from the Sun’s perspective. And it works for financial matters.

However, using the usual Geocentric (normal) or the Heliocentric chart, Saturn and Uranus are opposing this year, and that has been at the root of this economic downturn. The last pass of this opposition is in September 2009, HOWEVER….

Saturn and Uranus will continue to oppose in Aries-Libra. With a CARDINAL GRAND CROSS. This could not be more of a call to action. If we do not figure this out, massive problems more intense than we can currently imagine, can get very real. In other words, if real estate can only go UP and never DOWN, that will make most of the world’s population homeless. Only the few wealthiest people can afford to purchase homes and apartments. Or rent them. What about all the rest of us? Who can barely afford their rising utility bills, let alone rent??? Where is more and more money supposed to come from? Loans? That wild and crazy concept of living on credit didn’t work out so well. Kind of put the world in a hole. Where else? The stock market. Another questionable venture. Your job that’s in jeopardy, gone, or now brings in less? So seriously, where? We are supposed to pay more and more and more. Everyone is. All the time. Every year. More! That is NOT sustainable, and if you’ve been reading my posts for the past few years and listening to any media, you will know, this is a time of sustainability.

In these difficult times, we need something to uplift us. We do not need MORE bad news. So people shy away from astrology, which has the potential to give bad news. Tough things do happen in life, and to pretend they don’t takes away the power you have to make changes. But we know that. But it’s still true. The way I look at astrology is like a map of wise clues that help you to get from the tough times to better times in a way that serves your highest good and best interests. Because it comes directly from you, from your own inner wisdom, which comes directly from Source.

The current economic situation can last well into 2010 as the Saturn-Uranus opposition continues on into Aries-Libra, with an exact opposition at 0 degrees Aries-Libra on July 26, 2010. Not only is this NOT going away any time soon, in Aries-Libra it starts to have a lot of ACTIVE aggressive potential that is just getting started…. 0 Aries represents the starting point of cycles, the very beginning of all that is. And a major aspect on this degree signifies a cycle that is JUST STARTING.

As the NYTimes (yes, i read it daily) reports on Saturday, March 14, in this jobless market, more people are awakening to their “inner entrepreneur” and thinking of ways to make $$$ by doing things people need and want. NOW. Romance novels are through the roof in sales. Not my hot little cup of tea pursed to my luscious red lips, but for those who are comforted by it, great! My grandfather did well during The Depression of the 30s because he owned a movie theater, family biz back then, yiddish theater and all. As more people enter the entrepreneurial market, perhaps there will be more understanding of how business works and more support for the small business owner.

Astrology is not a volume business. People are offended that it has to be a business at all, it should be something people who care just do in their “spare” time.

We want the rewards of astrology that has the funding of Wal-Mart, yet we resent that it’s a business.

We want it both ways, whether or not it’s rational, sustainable, or realistic. Hopefully, we will get to the point where we just want to be conscious and have understanding so we don’t have to carry around heavy burdens and loads of unnecessary stress. Because that is exactly what’s hurting us most.

All my best,
Lauren Edmond

saturn opposes uranus: nevermind the revolution, your choice is evolution or erosion

Filed under: astrology, saturn, uranus — inspiredastrology @ 4:00 pm

Astrologers are calling Saturn opposing Uranus the end of the world. Alpha meets Omega, the end and the beginning oppose.

The current opposition in Virgo continues through September 2009. But it doesn’t stop there. It continues in late Virgo-Pisces and even into Aries-Libra in 2010.

Saturn opposing Uranus is a sign that you may be taking on more responsibilities than you can handle. Responsibilities may create more STRESS as they impose on your time for fun and spontaneity– there is ALWAYS more work to do! You may start to wonder, is this really worth it? Or, do people see you as someone willing to take on more, so they put more on your plate. You ask. They give. But, you can ask yourself, are you doing this to avoid a decision that will CHANGE your lifestyle? You don’t have to take a permanent vacation or walk out on a situation, but taking a few calculated breaks can give you the perspective you need to feel balanced and consciously ready to take on more.

Saturn opposing Uranus shows that we feel PRESSURED to make changes. And, because we feel pressured, we RESIST the changes we KNOW we have to make.

Why don’t we want to make changes? In an opposition– we WANT IT BOTH WAYS AT ONCE.

Astrology is ruled by Uranus, so it is effected by this economic downturn. People want astrology to be a big business so they can access unlimited information for free. Yet, many of us are offended by “astrology-as-business” and feel it should be done by people who care, who are only interested in helping others and willing to do it in their “free time.” This opposition is unrealistic, so it causes stress on both sides. Astrologers are expected to perform a professional service without pay. And people expect to get unlimited interpretations at Wal-Mart prices, even though astrology is NOT A VOLUME business. And being a business is offensive. So that puts astrologers in a bind, unless they have a source of income outside of astrology that still allows them to spend all their time working without getting paid. Some people do have that situation. What i feel is more interesting is our sense of a spiritual service not needing to be paid. That doesn’t seem realistic. Do we naturally ask homeless poverty-stricken people to give us astrology readings? That is not culturally acceptable. Yet, collectively we seem to think this should not be a paid activity, that paying takes something away, changes it, makes it less pure. Yet, without getting paid, it cannot continue. So there are 2 sides. Which is correct?

Saturn opposing Uranus is a time to look for a group target. A political target is best. It removes us on a personal level and gives us something to focus on as the cause of our situation. This is not really a personal attack, even if it seems that way. This energy is too detached for that– It only becomes personal when you stand for a cause and take the reactions you get personally. What is being attacked is an ideology, a method of governing and doing business– do we apply restrictions (Saturn) or do we let everyone do their own thing (Uranus), and if we let everyone do their own thing (Uranus), yet we have to deal with the results of business having no intention of doing anything but making their executives extremely wealthy. Is it ok for a bank executive to take a huge bonus when money is made, and also when so much money is lost the taxpayers are footing their luxury bills? Yet we attack the government for restricting business. Yet, business has run amok with lack of restrictions. Can you herd in human greed? Should you? And what happens when business takes whatever it can leaving society in the dumps. And then asks for more by raising rates and rents. Where’s the trickle down if you don’t sell corporate jets.

And now Venus is Retrograde in Aries, going back to 29 Pisces, warning us to slow down our spending and our mad search for MORE love and MORE stuff to look good, and ask ourselves, what exactly do we really want? what DO we really value? Basics. Do we remember we are dealing with other PEOPLE? If something is only as good as its free pricetag, what IS the purpose of clogging up the networks with even more clutter. There’s already plenty of chatter on the chat lines. You can go there and sift through the endless posts and perhaps even learn something about astrology. But in what context? We are exploring the parts and thinking we have understood the whole.

On February 5, Saturn opposed Uranus. This will happen again on September 15. And then again 2 more times in 2010 (April 26, July 26 at 0 Aries-Libra). In the February 5, 2009 opposition, the Moon joined the opposition exactly on that day and personally intensified the effects of the opposition as the Moon squared both Saturn and Uranus.

We are seeing extreme resistance to change. If pushed, this can instantly become negative. And if you try to get involved, it may just turn it all on you.

Here’s something interesting about RESISTANCE. Since Saturn is opposing Uranus, when you pinpoint the cause of your resistance, you define it, focus it, and strengthen it.

If you’re looking for your finances to improve so you can feel better about yourself, the financial world can be just about to have yet another downturn. Sure, things will start to improve somewhat after Venus’ upcoming retrograde station (March 6-April 17), but meanwhile, Venus is square Pluto and in the US chart, with a long-term aspect of Pluto opposing Venus. There are things we need to understand about money and how we interact that we seem to be missing. And even bringing it up brings up more defensive attitude than problem-solving drive. The square shows how much we want to hide from this issue and the long-term oppostion shows the severity. But there’s time… These debt-creating, foreclosure perspectives can be explored in-depth while Venus is Retrograde, as she will square Pluto not only February 5, but again on April 3 and April 17. The concept of foreclosure as a perspective problem has been fascinating me as a painter, how do you find perspective with everything on top and is also a very real problem for home owners.

Saturn-Uranus is a tense aspect, like pulling a rubber band or playing tug-of-war. Holding on creates resistance, and if one side lets go, everyone can be thrown out of orbit. How and where do you hold on? And what do you think would happen if you let go?

Choose to feel good!
Blessings!
