The Full Moon- Lunar Eclipse is December 31, 2009 at 2:12 PM EST :::: 11:12 AM PST ::: 7:12 PM GMT

at 10 degrees Cancer 15 minutes (just over 11 degrees from the South Node)

HOW you work to achieve success is just as significant to your well-being as how much you achieve. Wanting something TOO much can block or hide your ability to actually achieve and receive it.

Merry Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is usually a day of peace. You can hear the quiet stillness that falls over everything and everyone. The stillness of spirit! The beauty of blessings!

But for many of us, the goal is to get to this day with as much stuff as we can stuff. Oh right, we hear all the usual about how it’s not how MUCH you have but the quality of the journey. Ha! Ha! Ho! Ho!

The deal with “the journey” is that if you are consciously on the journey, you will be paying attention. And this means you will find clues and surprises that unlock mysteries and give you great ideas to solve nagging and difficult problems. If you weren’t paying attention and only racing to the GOAL, you would miss the best stuff!!!!

(Astrologically, Venus leaves adventurous Sagittarius and enters Capricorn to join the Sun – Pluto conjunction at 3 degrees Capricorn on Christmas Eve, square to Saturn at 4 Libra — it’s not about how MUCH stuff you have, it’s the conscious commitment– the depth and honesty of the relationships you form with people, life, and your very own soul)

So if you’re measuring yourself against how much you’re “supposed” to have or don’t have; if you’re giving material judgment power over your good feelings and using your finances as a gauge of goodness, you are blocking off and missing the most essential point which is simply to feel the LOVE.

The greatest gift you can give — to yourself and others– is to make a commitment. Decide on what is truly, crucially important to YOU so you can focus on your path to a sustainable future. Make it real, keep it real. The chart for New Year 2010 shows plenty of tests along the way, but you can also discover hidden treasures and experience evolutionary growth.

Winter Solstice

On December 21, the Sun enters Capricorn, signaling WINTER SOLSTICE, and the turning point of the Sun.

At Winter Solstice 2009, we find ourselves at a power point (as the Sun conjuncts Pluto). How are we going to use our personal power? Our power can be effective now, especially when we focus it. This Winter Solstice is an ideal time to look at your deeper, interior motives. What are your goals and personal ambitions? Are your goals sustainable? What steps can you take to make your goals reality? And when you take action, what do you expect will happen? How does what you want to achieve fit into society, and even more, how can you use your power and potential to improve society?

This is not an easy moment in astrological time. Mars makes a Retrograde station on December 20, throwing off our energy; Mercury makes a Retrograde station on December 26, causing us to second guess decisions; and Saturn will station Retrograde on January 13, going back into Virgo to get yet more details correct. Plans and projects may not produce what we hoped, not just yet. We may have to make it through the winter first.

But there’s help and there’s hope! There is LOVE!!! The love we feel and share may SEEM like an illusion, but it is very real, and by Christmas Day you will feel it even stronger as Venus enters Capricorn and joins the Sun and Pluto. When you make just the slightest effort to reach out and make connections, you can find opportunities to be happy and prosperous. Positive attitudes are as contagious as a smile.
