Weekend [update] Friday and Saturday, Mercury and Venus change signs. Mercury at the very end of Cancer has been making a sextile with Saturn at the very end of Virgo. This is great getting professional or business advice, for doing some serious deep thinking that requires detail and precision. You can learn from someone older and/or wiser, find just the right book or information.

Yet– both Saturn and Mercury are inconjunct (quincunx) Neptune, forming a YOD. Despite all the daily concerns, you can keep the difficulties life at a comfortable distance where you don’t have to focus on the harsh reality outside your ideal world. Yet, when you separate yourself from the world, your imagination can work against you instead of for you, adding to loneliness and mistrust of others who just don’t fit into your idealized model of what’s “supposed” to be. Venus enters Virgo on Saturday, July 10. Meanwhile, on Friday, Venus’ day of the week, Venus is void of course in the last degree of Leo. The desire for love and beauty can be bursting in your heart, yet does anyone (but you) see how lovely you are? Once Venus enters Virgo it’s time for learning more about Love. What can your relationships do for you?! Venus in Virgo thinks very realistically about love and relationships.

As Mercury enters Leo, it trines Uranus Saturday and Jupiter on Sunday, just after the Eclipse. These Mercury transits suggest using your brain power effortlessly. Your mind can be open, and that can help you easily leap up a learning curve that seemed far beyond reach– before now.

The week started off with Uranus making its yearly Retrograde station. But this means Uranus will transit back into Pisces, going all the way back to 26 Pisces 40 on December 5. So everyone with late Pisces points and planets, the shakeup is not quite over, but what you have learned can change your attitude and perspective on how to make the changes you’re experiencing work for you and others.

However, before Uranus slinks back into Pisces, Saturn will oppose Uranus at 0 Aries 25 on July 26. By that time, Jupiter will also be traveling Retrograde and therefore still conjunct Uranus, while Mars is quickly gaining on Saturn, and will conjunct Saturn exactly on July 31. So this opposition is more than Saturn-Uranus. It includes a Jupiter-Mars opposition, a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction, and a Mars-Saturn conjunction. Which way are we going!???! And how do we approach, and even heal a split where both sides are SURE the other side is completely wrong. The more we deny our hidden parts, the more we add to them. Being whole is not necessarily showing your best side all the time.

Also this week (Thursday), Mercury inconjuncts (quincunx) Neptune while Venus opposes Neptune. This is a lot of illusion and disillusion. But instead of putting all your lost hopes on someone else for not coming through, it can be more beneficial to check out your expectations. When we expect to be cared for, we can find ourselves disappointed in the quality of the care we receive. We say, “I could have done better myself!” and that’s a clue! These opposing planets give us an objective view of something that is usually hazy and idealized. If you’re an adult, you may be asked to sacrifice some of your child-ish or naive beliefs and expectations and take more personal responsibility for living your dreams. What does it really take? Are you really willing to do whatever it takes, or are you blaming someone to avoid and evade? And thereby keeping your illusions intact? If everyone seems wrong and you are feeling increasingly annoyed at their imperfections, this is the time to take a step back and check your view– you’re probably not nearly as powerless as you think! The gift of these aspects is the potential to see your blind spots and unblock your own imagination.
