Happy Fall Equinox!
This is the time when all things are equal. The Sun in Libra is time for balance.
Here’s the chart for Equinox cast for NY, where I live.

At Fall Equinox, the Sun enters Libra.
And as the Sun enters Libra this year, it squares Pluto at 0 degrees Capricorn. This is a clash of power. We find our power through our identity. Yet, in Libra we need to partner to achieve our highest potential. Pluto also suggests the need to partner, as Pluto is a planet that demands interaction. But the square implies a clash, conflict.
Yet, the chart for Autumn Equinox 2009 reveals that cooperation can make you even more powerful and successful.
The challenge this square illuminates is this: what YOU want needs to coordinate with the needs of others. Focusing only on getting for yourself can be seen as a powergrab, and power will be increasingly questioned, disputed, and challenged. Using threats and underhanded strategies to get over are more than likely to result in intensified conflicts. This isn’t about how many ways you can attack others and find where they are at fault. This is about how many ways you can take personal responsibility and display self-control. Not to repress your desires, but to find effective ways to save up your personal power so you can use it when you really need it!
People can see and resent attempts to manipulate and threaten and use rumors to get your way. They may even take action against you, which can be done behind your back or in secret, and sprung upon you when you least expect it!
The theme of Fall Equinox is doing this together.
Venus, ruler of the Sun in Libra, has just entered Virgo and is trine Pluto in Capricorn; mutual cooperation is to everyone’s advantage.
There is a Grand Trine from Moon-Mars-Uranus. The Moon is not only trine Mars, they are in “mutual reception”, meaning they are in each other’s signs strengthening each other and even able to stand in for each other [Moon is in Mars-ruled Scorpio and Mars is in Moon-ruled Cancer]. Adversaries can find ways to connect positively, and they both trine Uranus– sweeping change can happen quickly.
Not only is there a Grand Trine, Mercury and Saturn are conjunct, creating a Kite as they sextile Mars and Moon. When we stop and think, seriously, and do some research, again, we may find solutions that can work. There may be commitments we haven’t fulfilled, obligations we need to re-think, work we’ve neglected to complete, health concerns we’ve overlooked. But this Fall, we can blast through the emotional blocks the subvert our energy.
This is an opportunity to manifest what you really want. And what’s so important about manifesting? Why can’t we just enjoy ourselves and go on with our lives? We can! But some of us want to take the energy we are feeling and ground it in an activity that creates something tangible; that creates a meaningful life with goals and objectives.
Mercury-Saturn also returns the theme of respect and honor. To work well together, we need to be respectful of each other, even when we disagree. It can also be our emotions that kick in and make us take statements out of context, speaking and reacting in harsh and extreme ways.
At Equinox, the Sun is always at 0 declination. At Fall Equinox, the Sun is at 0 N, or on the Tropic of Cancer. Also at Equinox, Mercury is at 0 S, or on the Tropic of Capricorn. When planets oppose by declination, it is called contraparallel and will hopefully provide the balance and distance to view situations and opinions more objectively and rationally. It is a call to be reasonable.
Mercury is Retrograde, conjunct Saturn, and square Uranus. In order to make the changes we want to make, we need to take care of business. What we will need to do– again– this Autumn is: Review details we glossed over, judgments taken out of context, listen more carefully, and make the distinction between words spoken for the effect and the real meaning. Then, when we have fulfilled our word, we can make changes.
Yet, while Mercury is Retrograde, and repeatedly forming a T-square to the Saturn-Uranus opposition for the past month, it is showing us — in slow motion– why we resist. Change is not easy. Change means things are not the same– transition can throw us off. What we relied on is no longer there. But– it depends on how you approach new adventures. Change can be exhilarating, but you have to relax and enjoy the ride. And that’s not easy when the pressure is ON. Yet, it’s when we’re the most busy and active that we need to stay mindful of our pace, remaining relaxed so we maintain our personal power and ability to think clearly. When you make snap decisions out of fear or panic, you can go off on an adventure that is not in step with your inner self. However, if you approach your adventure in the state of mind of being open to change and curious about the future, you can stay in touch with your inner self and be safely guided, even past potential danger.
Good luck on your journey,
Please let me know if I can help connect you to your higher guidance!
Love&Trines,
Lauren
