Traveling at the speed of soul—

As Saturn and Chiron were changing signs– Saturn entered Libra and Chiron moved back into Aquarius — they made an inconjunct, or quincunx (150 degree apart) aspect.

Tuesday, July 20, Chiron started retrograding back into Aquarius (thru February 8, 2011) when Chiron will enter Pisces and continue to transit in Pisces for 7 years– until April 17, 2018. From now till February, Chiron will retrace its steps in Aquarius and rendezvous with Neptune again (they will travel within a degree apart all Fall without an exact conjunction )– giving us extra pschic time to get ready for the mentoring healing of Pisces. Saturn will continue transiting in Libra until October 2012.

So who cares about Chiron and an inconjunct angle to Saturn? Isn’t that toooo much information?

Not really. Saturn and Chiron don’t inconjunct very often– the next time will be in October 2064!

Inconjuncts (also called quincunx) give us slightly off perspective ways of seeing issues, and seeing issues from new angles can give us new insights.

Astrologers call Chiron the “wounded healer” — through Chiron, we gain the ability to LOOK at whatever has hurt or injured us, thereby raising our consciousness and making healing available. The nature of the hurt contains the seed of the healing.

In Aquarius, Chiron teaches us to work in groups, to be more aware of ourselves as a society, to look beyond our personal needs and desires and see how that fits in with the rest of societiy.

We all react differently in group situations. Groups can be more aggressive and dynamic than an individual, yet the energy of each member contributes to the group dynamic. How do you act in groups? Do you do whatever the group seems to want? Do you feel more aggressive? Are you a leader?

Besides making an inconjunct to Chiron, Saturn in Libra is opposing Uranus and Jupiter in Aries. This is an aspect of resistance. But what are we resisting?

Change. Certain changes are off limits. Our attitude can be: make me! We are not going to change everything willingly. In fact, in many ways we are holding on tight to the status quo, making sure we have everything we need to fit in with the world, show others we are responsible and living well. And since Chiron is conjunct Neptune (and quincunx Saturn), we are at a good vantage point to re-examine everything that is considered sacred.

Saturn is inconjunct (quincunx) Chiron and Neptune. Many of us look down on spiritual mentors, artists and image makers; meaning providers. Throw the bum out if they can’t make a living! Who needs anyone working full time to provide spiritual meaning?!! We can talk it out with friends. We don’t need a mirror reflection of symbols and images– unless the mirror shows us what we want to see. After all, we are busy paying the bills and don’t have much time for anything besides taking care of our responsibilities– and we just may not respect anyone who seems to have too much free time!

While many of us experimented with creative or healing work at some point in our lives, it’s not for everyone on a full time basis. The dive into the unconscious is perilous at best, scary, with no guarantee of coming through intact. In fact, there is a far greater chance of not making it. It is our artists that guide us through.

If in your past you were told to focus on your job and pay little attention to anything else, you may resent that limitation of your creative growth and project that resentment. You may not be at amused by someone who “makes art” all day long, or someone who writes about spiritual balance, thinking it’s silly or trite. Yet, that’s just a defense. The imagination, which we need, has been cut off, relegated to second place at best. The unconscious reflects our attitude back to us– if we approach the inner realm as though it is silly, frivolous, or at best amusing, that’s what it will seem to be. Any kind of alternative healing can seem suspicious and irrelevant. If we’re fine as we are, there’s nothing to heal anything! If the world is burning, experts will figure it out and we simply have to move on with our day. Unless the problem is in our backyard.

Yet, Saturn speaks of the passage of time. Nothing stays the same. And that can work for you. If you are interested in healing and releasing deep inner wounds or splits, this is a time you can access healing states. Those of us who feel like the biggest victims are often also the biggest manipulators capable of doing the most harm, not realizing how we radiate our negative emotions, or how toxic our unconscious emotions can be– to others and ourselves. Yet, mostly, the people we vent at are not those who did the initial wounding. Passing our pain to others through toxic emotions only keeps it alive; the only way to free ourselves is to change it from within our own selves– not to point it out in others. The unconscious just doesn’t work that way– your dreams are not indictments of others, they describe your own inner Self. If you are jumping on others for their mistakes, you are keeping your pain very much alive and active. Until we can sit with it, ground it, and release it, we keep it going.

If we stand in our ego and are too proud to assimilate the message of the artists and spiritual healers, our ego overtakes the archetypal message of the unconscious and is not healed. Yet, if our ego is not healed, the ego is overtaken by larger, archetypal forces.

This intensifies the opposition and gives us no way out. The ego can only see what it wants. It is the soul that can see both sides at once.

Focusing on whatever mistakes you made in the past can be (indirectly) what’s holding up your progress. Yet. releasing all that old “stuff” requires soul searching. Not everyone is ready for the night-sea journey. A good guide (Chiron conjunct Neptune) can help.

This turned out to be about Chiron and Saturn. There’s more to say about Saturn in Libra, but it will be there for 2 1/2 years and for now, I have to get to work!
